Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom – 12 Best Food Recipes To Heal Link's Stamina (2024)

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom players will quite quickly learn during their playthroughs that Stamina is one of the most important things in the game. A player's Stamina Wheel can be the difference between making it to the top of a cliff, reaching a certain Sky Isle, or being able to tame a wild horse. Unfortunately, it can be quite difficult and time-consuming for players trying to increase their Stamina. They will need to complete numerous Shrines to get enough Light of Blessings to earn a single Stamina vessel.

Players trying to find the best recipes to heal Link's stamina can find some here.

Updated on August 17, 2023, by Bronwyn Lee: A few months after the release of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, more and more ingredients are being found by players. These rarer ingredients often have much more potent bonus effects, meaning they're incredibly effective in certain dishes. These dishes in particular are excellent for restoring Link's Stamina. With such a wide variety of ingredients to cook with, players now have even more dishes to make. Some of the best Stamina restoring dishes can be found here.

12 Seafood Rice Balls

Tears of the Kingdom players with lots of Stamina Wheels may struggle to find recipes that restore enough Stamina to refill their Wheel again. Luckily, by cooking the Seafood Rice Balls dish, they can fill up to three entire Stamina Wheels. This makes this dish perfect for traversing long distances and trying to reach some particularly far away places.

For this recipe, players will need one to four Staminoka Bass and some Hylian Rice. Staminoka Bass are somewhat uncommon, but an easy spot players can find them in is just outside of Rito Village. Once the player has completed the Wind Temple, the frozen ponds leading up to the village should melt. Here, players should be able to find some Staminoka Bass.

11 Steamed Fish

One simple recipe to restore Link's Stamina in Tears of the Kingdom is Steamed Fish. This dish will restore a whopping three whole Stamina Wheels, making it perfect for players with a lot of Stamina investments.

To cook this recipe, players will need one to four Staminoka Bass, and any kind of vegetable, as long as it doesn't provide any conflicting bonus effects. The more Staminoka Bass the player uses, the bigger the Stamina restoration bonus will be.

10 Honey Candy

This simple recipe can be made by just cooking a single piece of Courser Bee Honey. If players are looking for a bigger Stamina Wheel boost, they just need to add some more Courser Bee Honey to the mix, and they're good to go. In Tears of the Kingdom, Courser Bee Honey is pretty rare, and players will have to hunt it down if they want to use it in multiple dishes.

The honey can most commonly be found in dense forest areas - players just need to make sure they keep an eye on the tree branches and look for any lingering honey bees, heralding the presence of their hive.

9 Crab Stir-Fry

Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom – 12 Best Food Recipes To Heal Link's Stamina (4)

Players can make some Energizing Crab Stir-Fry with just two ingredients - a Bright-Eyed Crab and some Goron Spice. Bright-Eyed Crabs are pretty common around Zora's Domain, so players who are running low can try to catch some there.

If the player wants to restore some more stamina with their meal, they can simply add a few more Bright-Eyed Crabs to the dish, and the stamina effects will increase. Goron Spice is most conveniently available to buy at the General Store in Goron City, for 16 Rupees each.

8 Mushroom Risotto

This fun recipe requires quite a large amount of ingredients. Players will need some Rock Salt, Goat Butter, Hylian Rice, and either one or two Stamella Shrooms. The more Stamella Shrooms the player uses, the bigger the stamina boost the dish will give them. Rock Salt is pretty common, and players will likely come across it naturally as they're mining. However, it can be bought from several merchants as well.

Goat Butter can actually be nabbed for free if players visit the spa in Gerudo Town - they'll find some lying about with some free Oil too. It can also be purchased from many merchants, and the same goes for Hylian Rice. Finally, Stamella Shrooms can be found in various forests around Hyrule, usually growing next to trees.

7 Mushroom Rice Balls

Players wanting to make some Energizing Mushroom Rice Balls can do so pretty easily. All they need is some Hylian Rice and between one and four Stamella Shrooms - the more mushrooms the player uses, the bigger the stamina restoration there will be. Using four Stamella Shrooms will leave players with a full Stamina Wheel of restoration.

Players can find Hylian Rice at most vendors around Hyrule, or they can sometimes find it whilst chopping grass. Stamella Shrooms are most commonly found in dense forest areas, growing around the bottom of trees.

6 Buttered Stambulb

The Buttered Stambulb recipe is relatively simple, and its name gives the ingredients away. Players will need some Goat Butter and between one and four Stambulbs. The more Stambulbs the player uses, the bigger the stamina restoration will be. Using four will result in a full Stamina Wheel being restored.

Stambulbs can most commonly be found in the Sky Isle and can be gathered quite easily. Goat Butter is available from various vendors throughout Hyrule.

5 Energizing Elixir

For players who solely want to focus on increasing their stamina and aren't too fussed about their health, the Energizing Elixir is perfect for them. If they want an elixir that will fully restore a Stamina Wheel, all they will need is four Restless Crickets and any monster part.

What's most important for this recipe is the Restless Crickets. These little creatures can be found in grassy areas, and players can farm the Restless Crickets quite easily by chopping down some areas of grass. They'll likely come across quite a few hiding beneath the greenery, and will quickly have enough to make the Energizing Elixir.

4 Carrot Cake

Carrot Cake is pretty controversial among cake lovers, but it's undeniably great in Tears of the Kingdom. Players wanting to bake this delicious recipe will have to make sure they have some Hylian Rice, Tabantha Wheat, Goat Butter, and one or two Endura Carrots. The more Endura Carrots the player uses, the bigger the stamina boost will be.

This dish will not only completely fill the player's stamina bar, but it'll also give them some temporary extra stamina. This is incredibly helpful for players earlier on in the game, who don't have a stamina bar big enough to reach certain places.

3 Carrot Stew

Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom – 12 Best Food Recipes To Heal Link's Stamina (10)

Carrot Stew is one of the more complicated recipes in Tears of the Kingdom. It requires quite a lot of ingredients, although most of them can luckily be bought from vendors around Hyrule. To make this homely dish, players will need some Fresh Milk, Goat Butter, Tabantha Wheat, and one or two Endura Carrots.

The Carrot Stew recipe will provide players with full Stamina restoration, and almost an entire extra temporary Stamina Wheel. This is particularly handy for players trying to reach some faraway locations that require just a bit more stamina to get there.

2 Fried Wild Greens

For players with plenty of Endura Carrots to spare, this recipe is perfect. Enduring Fried Wild Greens can be made by using up to five Endura Carrots, resulting in a huge full stamina restoration, as well as some extra temporary stamina. Unfortunately, Endura Carrots are pretty rare in Tears of the Kingdom.

Luckily, players can find Endura Carrots, most commonly around the various Cherry Blossom Trees in each region. Every Cherry Blossom tree will have at least one Endura Carrot growing next to it, so if players are wanting to farm Endura Carrots, they can visit all the Cherry Blossoms to find them.

1 Salt-Grilled Prime Meat

Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom – 12 Best Food Recipes To Heal Link's Stamina (12)

For players looking for how to increase their stamina in Tears of the Kingdom, they need not look any further. The Salt-Grilled Prime Meat will give players full Stamina Wheel restoration and increase their max stamina by over one extra wheel. They'll also receive a pretty nice 15 Heart restoration to top it all off.

For players wanting to cook the Enduring Salt-Grilled Prime Meat, all they will need is some Raw Prime Meat, Rock Salt, and three Endura Carrots. Raw Prime Meat can be gathered by hunting some of the larger wild animals, Rock Salt can be found whilst mining or at some vendors, and Endura Carrots can most commonly be found near each region's Cherry Blossom Tree.
