Thursday’s recap:Sharon Snaps as Cameron Pushes Her to Seek Revenge, and Billy Tells Jack That Chelsea Slept with Adam
(This day ahead recap episode airs in the USA on August 30. Expect spoilers! Recaps go live by 4:15 PM EST daily.)
Claire sees Summer in the park and tells her Kyle took the kid to the dinosaur park. Summer already knew.
Kyle texted her. She asks what Claire’s holding and Claire says it’s a gift for their grandparents. They sit and it’s awkward so Summer tries to make small talk. She thinks it must be nice for Claire to have the morning off.
They talk about Harrison being a budding artist and when asked what’s in the bag, Claire explains she’s changing her last name to Newman. Summer’s certain her parents and grandparents are thrilled.
Claire says they are and shows Summer the family tree plaque she got them.
Summer thinks their grandparents will love it. Claire admits she likes being a part of a family. It’s new for her.
Summer brings up Victor’s job proposal and Claire asks if he wants her to accept. Summer says, “Actually, I hope you don’t.”
She takes a call from Chloe who wants to bring Chelsea back to work. Summer refuses, knowing she has a lot on her plate as it is.
She believes Chloe and Sally can handle things.
They disconnect and Summer hopes she didn’t sound rude when she voiced her opinion on not wanting her to take the job at Newman.
Claire didn’t take it that way and asks why she feels that way. Is it because she wreaked havoc on the family?
Summer says not at all. She knows she was awful to Claire but Claire thinks she had good reason. Summer thinks she should take the job for her own reasons, not anyone else’s, certainly not her, “Because I’ve been difficult.”
Summer realizes she’s spent too much time being frustrated at Kyle and things are getting better between them. Claire knows since it was her job to follow the Newmans. “And hate us,” Summer finishes. Claire nods. She resented them but wanted to be one of them.
“Especially you, Summer.” This shocks Summer but Claire says she has confidence and used to be wild.
Everything she wasn’t but wanted to be. It’s why she’s tried so hard to get her to like her. Summer likes being an inspiration and they share a laugh.
Claire admits she hasn’t accepted the job. Maybe down the road she will. Talk turns to Faith’s accident and Summer can’t get used to them being family. She vows she’ll get there.
At Crimson Lights, Phyllis asks Nick how Faith and Lucy are. Nick says Faith for more tests but they’re optimistic.
Red’s relieved and says Lucy’s okay, though emotionally is a mess.
She’s being kept for observation. Phyllis invites him to relax for a moment.
She knows it’s hard not to feel the weight of having two kids in accidents. Nick keeps reminding himself Faith is okay. He can’t go to that dark place. Phyllis knows it’s easier said than done.
She asks who he’ll lean on. He insists he’s fine but she tells him he can lean on her.
They discuss how Heather and Daniel feel guilty that Lucy snuck out.
Phyllis wishes they wouldn’t considering it could happen to any of them but Nick says if she had stayed home, the accident wouldn’t have happened. Phyllis asks if he’s blaming them for the accident but he’s not.
They discuss Sharon and how both hope this incident doesn’t push her over the edge.
She has sympathy for her. Nick reveals she’s not getting better but that the doctors are sorting it out.
That doesn’t make sense to Phyllis who sees a disconnect. Maybe there’s something she’s not dealing with.
Nick doesn’t know how to help her but exasperated says, “I need to.” Phyllis reminds him he’s not her doctor or husband. He can’t wave a magic wand or ride in and help her.
This upsets Nick but Phyllis tells him she’s worried about him. He takes off to the hospital.

At the hospital, Heather tells Daniel Lucy’s tests were good and she might get to go home.
Daniel thinks they should have grounded her after the first incident and paid more attention to her.
Heather doesn’t think the guilt helps matters and knows they can’t watch everything their kids do.
Daniel worries Sharon’s blaming them and because of their history, he can’t blame her.Lucy sleeps while Daniel explains that Sharon was trying to be civil but it was obvious she was upset.
Heather understands that but Daniel has the sense that Sharon still sees him as the stupid drunk that Cassie had to drive home.
Heather reminds him he was a kid but Daniel calls it one that caused Cassie her life. Could she forget that?
Heather’s not sure.
Daniel admits he relives it constantly. Heather knows. She’s seen the toll it takes on him and hopes he can find peace with it.
Lucy wakes up and notices Faith’s not in her bed. She begins to cry and her parents rush to her side and reassure her that Faith’s fine.
At home, a rattled Sharon wanders around and talks to Cameron’s ghost though he’s not there.
Shetells him Faith is fine and will be home soon, so there is no reason to assign blame. “Even though there is clearly blame to be had.”
Mariah appears and startles Sharon.
She came to get some things for Faith.
Mariah asks who she was talking to and she lies that she’s talking to herself again.
Mariah says it sounds more like she was warning someone. Sharon covers.
She was talking to the universe and apologizes to her daughter for her earlier hysterics.
Mariah brushes it off. They all have moments like that.
She tries to assure Mariah that Faith will be fine, but when Cameron appears at the front door, Sharon stares off, causing Mariah to question her.
Sharon claims she’s not looking at anything and is tired of people bringing up Cassie’s death and the similarities between accidents.
She freaks out and Mariah apologizes and offers to be a sounding board.
Sharon’s afraid she won’t be able to stop if she starts yelling.
She needs to stop the rage she has. Cameron tells her not to let anyone know how angry she really is at Lucy and Daniel. Sharon nods when he tells her to keep it to themselves.
She tells her kid she’s mad at herself and Mariah asks her mom to stop being so hard on herself.
When asked, Sharon lies that she’s been talking to her doctor about it.
She cries and says how much she appreciates Mariah.
She looks at Cameron who nods vehemently and gives her a thumbs up.
Sharon offers to bring the bag to Faith but Mariah wants to see Faith anyway.
Cameron barks, “Oh my God, do these people ever leave you alone?”
He says they’re getting in their way. Mariah takes off to the hospital and leaves Sharon to change while Cameron claps and gives her an A+ in lying. Sharon doesn’t like deceiving her family, but she doesn’t want to admit how she really feels.
Cameron knows they’d be compelled to interfere. She begs him to leave her alone and he says he can. She just needs to snap her fingers but he knows she won’t. She needs him to feed her anger so she can do what needs to be done.
He pets her hair and offers to be there as long as she needs.
Sharon arrives at the hospital and eavesdrops on Lucy sobbing to her parents that she’s having nightmares.
She feels guilty and apologizes for sneaking out. She sobs that this is her fault while Sharon looks as though she’s about to pass out.
Mariah finds her and rushes to her side while Sharon melts down a little.
Nick arrives with coffee and Heather tells them that Faith’s just “downstairs.”
She’s fine. Sharon knows but being there is hard on her. Heather tries to calm her down before Nick and Mariah wander off.
Once they’re gone, Sharon gives Heather a death glare. Heather seems startled and says she knows this must be hard on her.
Sharon’s not sure she knows her life that well. Heather struggles to agree but her and her family wish the best for her. She hopes they can support the kids together and not focus on recriminations.
Nearby, Daniel apologises to Nick who tells him not to feel guilty. Just focus on Lucy.
Summer meets her mom at Crimson Lights. They talk about “the hospital crew.” Summer says Sharon must be freaking out.
“Between you and me, she didn’t have that far to go,” Phyllis says. Summer admonishes her, knowing this has brought up memories of Cassie.
Phyllis agrees it’s a nightmare and they need to support Lucy who is torturing herself.
