Position Purpose: Greenfield-Central has a growing instrumental music program, and is looking for an outstanding teacher to add our faculty. The position will include responsibilities at both the Junior High (grades 7-8) and the High School (grades 9-12), with possible extra curricular responsibilities throughout the year.

Experience in all areas of music performance and education; including marching band, jazz band, and concert band.
Must hold a current Indiana teaching license for Junior High and High School instrumental music (or the ability to produce one prior to school starting).
Band Director Job DescriptionTeam teaches band at the Junior High as well as other buildings throughout the week.
Teach sections of exploring music at the Junior High.
Assist with extracurricular activities, including, but not limited to: Marching Band, Pep Band, Winter Performance groups, Junior High Jazz Band
Help with cross-campus recruitment to continue the growth of our overall band program
Additional Duties
Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Principal and other central office administrators as designated by the Superintendent.

Equipment

Travel Requirements
Travels to school district buildings and professional meetings as required.
Knowledge, Skills And AbilitiesKnowledge of current teaching methods and educational pedagogy, as well as differentiating instruction based upon student learning styles.
Knowledge of elementary school curriculum and concepts.
Knowledge of data information systems, data analysis and the formulation of action plans.
Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws regarding education and students.
Ability to use computer network system and software applications as needed.
Ability to organize and coordinate work.
Ability to communicate effectively with students and parents.
Ability to engage in self-evaluation with regard to performance and professional growth.
Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others contacted in the course of work.
Physical and Mental Demands, Work Hazards
Works in standard office and school building environments.

Bachelors from an accredited College or University in Instrumental Music Education or a related discipline applicable to teaching assignment.
ExperienceSuccessful prior teaching experience for the appropriate grade levels are a plus.
