Ingredients

  • 1 ounce brewed espresso
  • 1 1/2 ounces vodka
  • 1 1/2 ounce Kahlúa
  • 1 ounces chocolate liqueur
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 ounce chocolate sauce
  • shaved chocolate and star anise for serving (optional)

Instructions

  • Brew the espresso and set aside to let cool a bit.

  • Optional: coat the rim of a glass in a thin layer extra chocolate sauce and dip into a bowl full of shaved chocolate. Set aside.

  • Combine the vodka, Kahlúa, chocolate liqueur, vanilla, chocolate sauce, and espresso with ice in a co*cktail shaker.

  • Add the lid and shake vigorously.

  • Strain the co*cktail into the glass, then use a spoon to add any extra foam inside of the co*cktail shaker on top of the drink.

  • Top with extra chocolate shavings a star anise, if desired. Enjoy!
