Mrs. Alford native of Cleveland, Ohio, and daughter of the late Charles and Ada Francis Humphreys Hahn. In addition to her parents, Mrs.

Alford was preceded in death by one son, Eric Hahn in 1995." She was a homemaker. Mrs. Alford was a Christian. Home, TN, went to be with the Lord Friday, November 14,2003 at James H. Quillen VA Medical Center following a brief illness. He was a son of the late Samuel W. Nora Norwood Cureton. He was a native of KY David Cureton and had lived i in Chicago, and Lorain, OH, before moving to this area in 1981.

He was an Army veteran. He was a member of Crossroads Christian Church and Berean Sunday School Class. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 12 brothers and sisters. He is survived by his daughter, Sandy Babel and husband John of Johnson City; 2 sisters, Cleta Wormsley of Surgoinsville, TN, and Arlene Knuckles of Pennington Gap, VA; 4 grandchildren, Brandon Ryan Ealy and Matt A.J. Babel of Johnson City; special friends, Dick Jane Sowers of Richmond, VA; several nieces nephews; and all of his dear friends downtown at the V.A.

G. Neal Hill, age 74, passed away November 13, 2003, following an extended illness. Born in Freemont County, ID, he was a son of the late James Nelson Hill and Elma Whittle Hill. He was preceded in death by seven brothers and one sister. Beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother, he leaves behind his wife, Shirley Walker Hill of Bristol; daughter, Kay E.

Hill of Knoxville, TN; son daughter-in-law, Ian W. Sandra Ann Hill; grandsons, Wyatt Ian Hill and Connor Michael Hill, all of Nashville, TN; and brother, Blaine W. Hill of Newberry Park, CA. As an officer in the United States Marine Corps, Dr. Hill was a decorated veteran of the Korean Conflict and honorably discharged at the rank of Captain.

His medals included the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. Educational degrees included University of Idaho, B.S. in Agriculture, and University of California, Davis, M.S. in Nutrition and a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine. Following graduation, he practiced veterinary medicine in Homedale, ID, and later worked as a research veterinarian at Hess Clark in Ashland, OH.

During his 40 years in Sullivan County, he held various positions in veterinary research for Beecham Massengill Laboratories and was the proprietor of Parkway Animal Clinic. He was an associate member of the American Animal Hospital Association, a member of the TN Veterinary Medical Association and the American Veterinary Medical Association. The memorial service for Dr. Hill will be conducted at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 672 Island Road, Bristol, VA, where he was a member.

Mary N. Hendrix Jones, 76, of Imperial, CA, died on Friday, November 14, 2003, in Roanoke, VA. Mrs. Jones was born on January 6, 1927, in Piney Flats, TN. In July 1948, she married her childhood sweetheart, John W.

Jones. She was a constant support to her husband during his ministries to churches i in East Tennessee and California. She faced a lifetime of illness and chronic pain with great courage and dignity, and daily exemplified that God's grace is sufficient to meet our needs.
