Hotel laundry procedures are tuned to treat each item with the utmost care. As a result, sheets are handled differently than towels, and so on. The size of the load, chemicals, water temperature, and wash duration are all tailored to the specific fabric of the articles.
Not all towels are created equal, therefore towel absorbency depends on the type that is purchased. Synthetics often don't last as long and don't absorb as well.
The fact that they never use fabric softener on their towels is definitely the main factor. Any towel's absorbency will be reduced with fabric softener. It thickens the fibers and keeps moisture at bay.
Wash in warm water without using fabric softener. Wash your kitchen towels and bath towels separately if your kitchen towels have a lot of grease on them. (Original Tide and Dawn are both effective degreasers.) Kitchen cleaning cloths are always washed separately in hotels with kitchens.
Use ordinary detergent instead of detergent with softener added. not too much, either.
Provide space in the machine so that the water may work without being crowded. Moreover, accumulated filth might reduce absorbency.
The fact that hotel owners exclusively buy high-quality towels from recognized linen manufacturers and that the maintenance process for the towels is significantly different are the two main reasons why hotel towels have better absorption power than those used at home.
Let me now explain how these two factors relate to your query. The greatest towels made of the best materials are always bought by hotel owners. The primary element that gives the towel its great absorption capacity is the fiber employed in its production. The weight determines whether the towel is a good or bad absorbent together with the fiber. Typically, towels with a weight of 500 to 600 GSM (Gram per Square Metre) are very absorbent and quickly dry you off. And the majority of hotels buy towels with a GSM of 500 to 600. Next comes the content. When it comes to swiftly absorbing moisture, towels made from 100% Turkish or Egyptian cotton are unquestionably superior than those made of synthetic materials.
The maintenance approach is last but certainly not least. In hotels, there is never any use of fabric softeners. It's easy to understand why. Towels' ability to absorb moisture is gradually diminished by fabric softeners, which also add another layer to the fabric's surface that keeps moisture at bay. In addition, hotels wash each towel separately rather than combining them together in the washing machine. Hence, stay away from washing your towels at home with greasy kitchen towels. Furthermore, avoid washing white towels along with colored clothing if you want to avoid staining them. Oh! And if you want your high-end towels (if you've bought them) to always be incredibly absorbent, avoid using fabric softeners.
