Easy edible flower recipes are so much fun to make! Even in a small garden space you can grow lots of edible flowers for making jellies, syrups, vinegars and more.
I’ve always loved growing vegetables but when you want to grow your own food don’t forget about edible flowers. There are so many flowers that can be used in everything from simple salad garnishes to unique jellies.
Even if you don’t have much room to garden you can tuck flowers into small spaces in your garden. You might even have wild edible flowers like wild violets and dandelions growing in your lawn that you can enjoy.

Tips For Harvesting Edible Flowers
Harvest Safely – Always make sure you are picking flowers in a clean area. Avoid any area where animals have been kept, along the sides of roads, and anywhere that has been sprayed with chemicals.
Identification Safety – When you are harvesting flowers from your garden or wild always make sure you know exactly what you are picking. There are many edible flowers, some you can even find in high end grocery stores but there are many others that can make you sick.
If you are not sure about the type of variety of flower then talk to someone who is an expert in identification or just don’t harvest them.
Use Flowers Quickly – Flowers start to wilt quickly after you pick them. For the best results make sure you use them as soon as possible. It’s frustrating to do all the work needed to pick blossoms only to have them go bad before you can use them up.
